At approximately 4:30PM on Wednesday, May 25, the Naperville Police Department responded to 200 W. Jefferson Ave. (Nichols Library) to investigate a suspicious incident involving a child.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 5-year-old girl was approached in an interior stairwell by a man who attempted to persuade the girl to come with him. The subject was interrupted by a family member who entered the stairwell at which time the suspect fled and was unable to be located.
The suspect is described as a male/white, 25-35 years of age with short black hair, no facial hair or glasses, wearing blue jeans and a long sleeve black shirt. He was seen with a female described as being 25-35 years of age with long blonde hair.
