Paul Harris Fellow recognition is a time to extend the “hand of friendship” as depicted in the sculpture of Rotary founder Paul Harris at Rotary International headquarters in Evanston.

The Rotary Club of Naperville will honor community members with Paul Harris Fellowship Awards for Service at a luncheon beginning at noon on Thurs., May 19, 2016, in the Pavilion at Meson Sabika.

The ceremony will recognize this year’s recipients: Frank Avila. Usman Baki, Judie Caribeaux, Lenore Chemers, Gene Darfler, Jan Erickson, Karyl Grecu, Ron Keller, Syyama Pappu, Hitesh Shah Patel, Chad Pedigo and Kitty Ryan.

The Rotary Club of Naperville is pleased to sponsor this Award to honor excellence in service to the Naperville community and beyond, stated club publicist Christine Bloom in the news release.

The Paul Harris Fellowship Award is the highest recognition that Rotary bestows on individuals who exemplify the Rotary International motto “”Service above Self.” Rotary Clubs worldwide honor individuals who have made a difference in improving the quality of life and shown leadership in volunteer activity.

The purpose of Rotary is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
