Knoch Knolls
Blankets of blue bells and mayflowers (umbrella plants) are annual spring attractions at Knoch Knolls, 320 Knoch Knolls Rd. in south Naperville. Cross the footbridge over the DuPage River to discover a clearing in the woods. And find one of the city’s many stone markers that helps tell the story of local history. There’s also a Nature Center where visitors can learn about local freshwater species in a 900 gallon fish tank.
Naperville Welcomes Women to Run and the Riverwalk
The Riverwalk played a part in the 2016 Naperville Women’s Half Marathon & 5K held April 24.
A half-mile trek along the Riverwalk from Hillside Road over the Moser Bridge and through Fredenhagen Park led 1,107 finishers in the Half Marathon to the final lap around the track at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
Organized by Premier Event Management, the running and walking event designed for female-only runners of all ability levels was hosted by North Central College and presented by the Naperville Running Company.
Since its beginnings in 1981, the Riverwalk has grown to be a natural setting for fundraising walks and special outdoor events.
