Remembering my 2016 theme “Keeping it Simple,” my next dining adventure began with my cell phone and my credit card and a new pizza place called Little Pops Pizzeria New York Style.
The pizzeria is located at 1819 Wehrli Road. Their hours are 11AM until 9PM Tuesday through Thursday; 11AM until 10PM on Friday and Saturday; and Noon until 9PM on Sundays. Call them at (630) 210-8084. They deliver 12-15 minutes from their location.
By the way, here’s a bit of lingo trivia on how you order. It is not “for here or to go,” but “to stay or take away.”
I’d never had a New York-style pizza, so I was in for a treat. For starters I had the garlic knots, which come in three different sizes 3, 6 or 12— all warm dough with lots of flavor. They were steaming hot and the garlic and olive oil were a perfect match.
For my main course, I choose the Hawaiian pizza which is ham and pineapple. My mom had their pepperoni and mushroom.
The pizzas both arrived piping hot, which is key to a good delivery!
Their homemade Marinara sauce is amazing with hints of fresh basil and sweetness. There are heaps of mozzarella cheese and that was a sight to see. The key to a good New York Pizza as I was told by my mom is the fold. The pizza slices are very large and you should be able to fold it and it should not be soggy … Mission accomplished on my pizza slice, it was crispy; yet foldable.
My overall experience was fantastic, well, especially for my mom because I bought dinner!
Seriously, I highly recommend to all of my readers to give Little Pops Pizzeria a try and tell them Jack the Foodie set ya. Until next month remember take the time out to relax and to smell the “pizza.”
