Having a heart to serve and solve

-

February is the month to show how much you appreciate those around you, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community of supporters who have made the past three years so remarkable. In January 2013, Loaves & Fishes launched our first ever campaign: The Power of Community Campaign. Our goal was to raise $6 million from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2015, and your efforts helped us raise $6,887,126 to benefit the lives of 8,657 local families.

Through our work with these families, we learned a great deal about their barriers to self-sufficiency and about the service gaps in our community that exacerbate these barriers. For example, a lack of mass transit and reliable transportation remains a critical problem for many of these families. Loaves & Fishes is committed to finding solutions to these obstacles, as expressed in our next 3-year strategic plan titled Serve to Solve. This plan will guide our efforts to ensure more low-income families have access to high-quality, nutritious food, preventative care, educational opportunities and wellness services. You can check out the full version of Serve to Solve on our website and learn how you can have an impact on our neighbors.

Every day at Loaves & Fishes is exciting because we get the opportunity to change lives, and we are always looking to share the joy of our mission with more members of our community. 2016 promises to be a year full of compassion, service and hope, so join us today!
