KidsMatter will host its annual Student Job Fair at North Central College from 5-7:30PM Tues., March 21, 2017, in the Residence Hall/Recreation Center, located at 440 South Brainard St.  The popular event welcomes teens to explore opportunities available in the local part-time and seasonal job market.

The KidsMatter Student Job Fair presents an educational experience that will offer 1,800 job opportunities by the 50-plus local businesses in attendance, organizers said.

Past experience has been that the Job Fair prepares young people for the workforce via the mock interview, resume, social media, and internship stations.

This free opportunity to connect with a wide variety of employers from area businesses  who hire teens and young adults for part-time employment.

Each student who attends the Fair will receive a free Resource Booklet summarizing the opportunities available at each participating business along with their contact information.  The booklet also includes a section that provides tips and tactics students can refer to in order to increase their odds of securing a job.   It answers questions such as:

  • “How do I prepare for an interview?”
  • “Who should I use as a reference?”
  • “What qualities are employers looking for?”

This event is free of charge for all students and generally targets youth age 15-23 years of age.

The Executive Sponsor of the Student Job Fair is the DuPage Foundation.
