2016 looks to be a great year for us here at Dog Patch. Winter is official even though late, days are getting longer again and our pets want to huddle inside with us.
We use the quieter retail time to plan the year ahead. We also look back at our accomplishments from the year before. We are proud to say that we adopted out 350 dogs and 60 cats in 2015. This is a big accomplishment. While the numbers are a bit less than in previous years, we have begun to take on more challenging animals that take longer to place. We are trying to find a good mix to keep everyone happy. I am so proud of my staff and how they have learned to handle and work with these animals. We have all been humbled by the care and attention these animals need and so desperately deserve. There is nothing like changing an animal’s life for the better.
We will be evaluating our merchandise and what is available to us in an effort to stay current with the industry and to ensure that you have the best possible products available for your animals. My dogs Daisy, Abner and Emma love being test pilots for all of the new food, treats and toys. They have a busy winter season ahead.
Winter is a great time to start a fish tank. We have a great selection of tanks, supplies and fish at the ready. Combined with our knowledgable staff, we can help you get your tank started off the right way so it doesn’t end up in the basement waiting for this summer’s garage sale.
I also want to take this time to thank the Naperville community for its continued support. Dog Patch will begin it’s 45th year in business beginning in February. A business like this only survives when the community accepts and embraces it. For that we are all incredibly grateful.
