Last January, our program chairperson Patty Boyd offered something new. As a talented and experienced floral designer, Patty is well qualified to teach and she showed us how to make a floral design to fit inside our famous Cup of Cheer teacups. We learned the type of floral foam to use, how to cut the foam to fit into the teacup and where to place the plant material to make a darling arrangement. It was such a success that we decided to offer a hands-on floral design workshop again this year.
On Wed., Jan. 27, Patty has Janet Gallagher, floral design instructor at Kishwaukee College, coming to teach us (and you) how to make a floral design. Janet is bringing students to help and all of the materials, too!
All we/you need to bring are floral clippers and a bag to wrap it in to take home. If you don’t have clippers, don’t worry. Our members are willing to share. Come and learn floral techniques and take home a unique floral arrangement.
