Thanks to the Naperville Noon Lions, more than three thousand children and families in Naperville have been assisted with vision and hearing care and diabetes support since the service club first introduced the Turkey Trot 5K in 1998.

This year’s run, trot, walk and strut on a “flat, fast and scenic course” is set to begin at 8AM sharp, Thurs., Nov. 26. The start and finish lines are at Naperville Central High School, located at 440 West Aurora Avenue.

Preregistration is required. This popular run typically attracts its limit of 7,500 runners, selling out at least a week in advance.

UPDATE Nov. 13, 2015 / Noon Lions Club President Bob Hull said already 6,500 participants have preregistered. Race organizers are hoping that ” because of the warmer weather so far this fall, we will have a big push in registration the next two weeks.” Hull also reminds runners that whether they reach their maximum of 7,500 runners or not, no registration is available on Thanksgiving Day.  Spectators are welcome!

Packet pick-up runs Sat., Nov. 21 through Wed., Nov. 25. Packets are available at the Naperville Running Co., 34 W. Jefferson Ave., in downtown Naperville.

In 2014, thousands of grateful runners endured freezing weather for the 2014 Turkey Trot at Naperville Central High School.  All support is very much appreciated by the Naperville Noon Lions.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
