When Carolyn arrived in Los Angeles to pursue her television production career, she came with a lot more than a packed car. She arrived equipped with determination, confidence, and the coping skills she had learned at 360’s Snowball prevention education and leadership development retreat.
Carolyn first attended Snowball in 2008 and she would go on to become teen staff for the next two years. She said she attended because she was having a hard time in school socially. The program taught her to “talk it out” and handle her emotions. Friendliness toward others and a positive attitude all emerged during Snowball. As a small group leader, she heard about serious issues but then also learned ways to cope with those same issues.
Since then, Carolyn’s been very busy! She completed an internship at NCTV along the way toward earning a degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication from Marquette University. She remained so appreciative of her time at Snowball, she gave back by producing highly effective videos for two of 360’s annual galas. After moving to LA earlier this year, she worked on a number of productions including a pilot at CBS. Recently, she landed the position of Production Assistant on the Warner Brothers show “Mike and Molly” with Melissa McCarthy.
Carolyn said, “I’m excited to go to work every day.” But as she expertly navigates the maze of West Coast television production, the skills she mastered in Snowball still play a starring role.
And that’s where Carolyn is now.
