Last Fling Road Closures, Parking, Shuttle Service and Accessibility Plans

Last-Fling-50-Year-Logo-2015-RecoveredThe City of Naperville reminds residents of the upcoming street closures, parking restrictions, shuttle locations and accessibility plans that will be in effect throughout Last Fling, taking place Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7.

Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the Last Fling includes a carnival, pre-parade 5K and one mile runs, food vendors, business expo and more. There will be several road closures and no parking zones in effect for the duration of the event, as well as additional closures and restrictions on Monday, September 7 to accommodate the Labor Day Parade, Rooster 5K and Fling Mile. The details regarding dates, times and locations of these closures and parking restrictions can be found on color-coded maps at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

Remote Parking and Shuttle Locations

Free public shuttles serving Last Fling will run to and from three remote parking locations near the downtown Naperville area, located at:

  • Burlington commuter parking lot, southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street
  • North Central College, corner of Brainard Street and Highland Avenue
  • All Saints Catholic Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave.

Shuttles will run approximately every 30 minutes. Pick-ups and drop-offs take place on-site at the corner of Eagle Street and Aurora Avenue. Parking is also available in parking lots and decks throughout downtown Naperville.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking for the event on-site will be available at Naper Settlement after 6PM September 4, 5 and 6 and all-day September 7; the Rotary Hill parking lot located on Aurora Avenue; and in the lower level of the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle St. Please note that for the duration of the event, the entrance to the Municipal Center parking lot will be off of Webster Street.

Off-site accessible parking is also available at All Saints Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave. Accessible shuttle bus service is available at this location approximately every 30 minutes.

Accessible parking is available in all of the parking lots and parking decks located throughout downtown Naperville as well as on some of the streets. A color-coded downtown Naperville accessible parking map is available to view at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

Rooster 5K, Fling Mile and Labor Day Parade

The 2015 Labor Day Parade will take place at 10AM on Monday, September 7 in downtown Naperville. The Fling Mile will take place starting at 8:45AM along the parade route followed by the start of the brand new Rooster 5K at 9AM on the same course.
