How to watch Naperville government in action

-

Naperville’s municipal governing bodies welcome your input.  More than ever during challenging times when funding revenues are in question, citizens are encouraged to participate with thoughtful feedback as officials write public policy and approve budgets.

That’s why meetings for Naperville City Council, Naperville Park District Board of Commissions, school board and Naperville Library Trustees are posted in advance with the time, day and place, including the agenda.

All meetings of local bodies are open to the public and provide time for public comment as elected officials.

For details about signing up to comment during public forums, check appropriate website. Also note, that some meeting dates are subject to change with advance notice.

By following regular meetings, residents and other constituents will have a better idea how their tax dollars are being spent at the City of Naperville, Naperville Park District and public school districts.

Get to know local elected officials who serve you

Thanks for paying attention to local governing bodies where your input and opinions about funding matter most. Naperville public officials, for the most part, serve without pay. Some are elected and many others are appointed to serve on boards and commissions.

Get to know local public officials, learn local issues, offer thoughtful input and let them know you appreciate their service. Whether you always agree with them or not, they aim to work together while trying to sustain the standard of living the community has come to expect.

This community is blessed with problem-solving individuals with innovative ideas. Share yours. Public officials will serve best when they hear from their constituents—while listening, too.

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” – Plato
