Fast food doesn’t always have to be fast and furious. For this month’s column, I decided to dine in at Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A is a fast food restaurant that began in the early 1960’s. Since then, Chick-fil-A has steadily grown to become the largest quick service chicken restaurant in the United States.
Chick-fil-A is a family-friendly restaurant. You order your food at the counter and then you sit down at a table and they bring you your food.
Menu items range from all chicken type foods, like chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and, of course, French fries. I decided to get a lot of an old sauce I used to have often when I was younger at Candlelight, back in Sterling where my grandparents live. It’s a sweet sauce that goes perfectly with chicken and French fries.
One reason Chick-fil-A is different from other fast-food places is that when they serve you your food, they always say “my pleasure” after they serve it.
Chick-fil-A also gives back to their communities and has given over $68 million in contributions to over 700 educational and charitable organizations. The company also has provided millions of dollars in food donations all across America.
So next time you are looking for a fantastic chicken sandwich- try Chick-fil-A and tell them Jack-the-foodie sent you.
