Edward Heart Hospital cardiodiagnostics earn national accreditation

-

Above / Edward Heart Hospital is located on the campus of Edward Health & Hospital Services.

Edward Heart Hospital’s cardiodiagnostics department has earned a three-year accreditation in nuclear cardiology from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

The cardiodiagnostics department uses procedures like stress testing, nuclear stress tests, echocardiograms, stress echo cardiograms, EKGs and peripheral vascular exams to detect cardiovascular disease – disorders of the heart and blood vessels – which are the number one cause of death in the U.S. On average, one American dies every 39 seconds of heart disease.

Accreditation by the IAC means that operational and technical components of Edward Heart Hospital’s cardiodiagnostics care have undergone a thorough review by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care that complies with national standards. Accreditation follows a comprehensive application process, including detailed case study review. For more information, visit www.intersocietal.org/nuclear/main/patients.htm.

In addition to the nuclear cardiology accreditation from the IAC, the Heart Hospital had previously earned accreditation from the organization for echocardiograms and peripheral vascular exams.
