Through June 14, Art exhibit: NCC showcases a free art exhibit titled “Turbine Paintings” by Brian Ritchard, a Chicago-based artist who created a series of paintings depicting American wind farms. The exhibit is available through June 14 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

Through June 14, Art exhibit: NCC presents the Senior Art Show, titled “Perspectives,” featuring the artwork of 10 seniors, through June 14 in the College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. June 4, Lecture: NCC’s political science faculty present their Topics In Politics (TIP) lecture series at noon Thurs., June 4, in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. Four faculty members-Suzanne Chod, William Muck, Shereen Ilahi and Stephen Maynard Caliendo-will each give 15-minute talks on topics ranging from the U.S.-Iranian nuclear negotiations to the politics of cheating and corruption from Richard Nixon to Tom Brady, and more. Admission is free.

June 4-7, Theatre: NCC presents “Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights” by Gertrude Stein at 7:30PM June 4-6 and at 2PM June 7 in the College’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. North Central’s music and theatre faculty collaborate with students on this the dramatic and unique version of the Faustus tale. Tickets are $10/adults and $8/students and seniors.

June 6, Music: Chicago Sinfonietta presents “United We Stand,” a concert celebrating the spirit of America. The concert begins at 8PM Sat., June 6, in NCC’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $58 and $46/adults and $10/students and children.

June 12-14, 19-21, 26-28, Theatre: BrightSide Theatre in Naperville presents “The Sound of Music” at 8PM June 12-13, 19-20, 26-27 and at 3PM June 14, 21 and 28 in NCC’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. For more info visit brightsidetheatre.com.

June 13, Commencement: NCC celebrates its 150th Commencement ceremony at 10AM Sat., June 13, in the College’s Residence Hall/Recreation Center, 440 S. Brainard St. Tickets are not required but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis so guests are encouraged to arrive early; doors open at 8:30AM for guest seating. June 19, Transfer information session: NCC will host an information session Fri., June 19, for transfer students. Visitors can learn about academic choices, transfer admission process, scholarships and financial aid. Registration begins at 9:30AM in Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. June 19-21, 26-28, Opera: NCC’s Summer Light Opera presents two Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, “Utopia, Limited” and “The Grand Duke,” with direction by Matt Boresi and musical direction by Jeordano Martinez. Six productions will be staged at 7:30PM June 19-20 and 26-27 and at 2PM June 21 and 28 in Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $18/adults and $12/students and seniors.

June 19-Aug. 9, Art exhibit: NCC presents “Pseudonym,” a free collaborative exhibit on display June 19 through Aug. 9 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The featured painters are Michael William Foster, Jaime Foster, Barry Dwyer and Andy Christopoulos; they will give a collaborative painting demonstration at a reception from 6 to 8PM Fri., June 19.

June 20, Music: The West Suburban Symphony will perform at 7:30PM Sat., June 20, in NCC’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. For more info, visit westsubsymphony.org.
