Cornerstone Day Picnic at NCC – 11AM

North Central College invites members of the community to its annual Cornerstone Day Picnic from 11AM to 1:30PM Friday, May 15, at Jefferson Plaza, located east of Brainard Street at Jefferson Avenue. The free event will feature sample cuisine by several Naperville restaurants and Chartwells, the College’s food service provider, with entertainment by student performers. In the event of rain, the picnic will be held in the Wentz Concert Hall lobby at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. For more information call (630) 637-5200.

NNHS Vocal Pop Concert – 7PM | $10

NNHS Show Choirs invite you to their annual Vocal Pop Concert on May 15th at 7PM in the NPAC. After a successful contest season, spend the night with High Heeled Harmony and Entourage as they perform a years worth of shows. See their Fall Show, Halloween Show as well as their award winning Contest Shows and Combo band. Tickets are $10 and are available at www.naperville203.tix.com. Tickets will be also be available at the door although tickets are limited.

Saturday and Sunday, May 16 & 17 | 10AM -4PM. Naper Settlement becomes a Civil War encampment with more than 300 reenactors where visitors can meet famous characters of the past and become immersed in history as the 150th anniversary of the Civil War is commemorated. A battle is held each day at 2:30PM. Day of event, tickets are $15 adults and seniors; $10 youth ages 4 12. Save $5 each on advance tickets available on-line or at the Pre-Emption House Visitor Center. Free admission for members and children under 4. napersettlement.org.

11th Annual Team Hope Walk – 9:30AM | $20

This is the premiere fund-raising event of the Illinois Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. We’ve raised over $500,000 in the past 10 years. Come for the Walk, stay for the music and the now Famous Hot Dog Lunch.

Renaming of Naperville Safety Town for Mayor Pradel – 1PM

You’re invited to join the Naperville Safety Town Commission and volunteers from the Naperville Junior Womans Club as it celebrates the dedication and renaming of Safety Town in honor of Mayor George Pradel and his wife, Patricia on Sunday, May 17 at Safety Town, 1320 Aurora Ave., Naperville. A ribbon-cutting and program will begin at 1 pm at the front door of Safety Town. In celebration the Pradel family’s decades-long commitment to the children of Naperville, and to continue the Pradel legacy at Safety Town, it is being renamed, The A. George and Patricia Pradel Safety Town of Naperville.
