Ribfest 2015 sets stage for Paul Rodgers on July 2

-

Ribfest 2015, organized by the Exchange Club of Naperville, has added Paul Rodgers, platinum-selling musician and founding member of Free, Bad Company and The Firm, to its star-studded music roster during the four-day festival held in conjunction with Independence Day. This year’s event runs July 2-5 in Knoch Park, located along West Street near downtown Naperville.

Rodgers, whose hits with Free and Bad Company include “All Right Now,” “Can’t Get Enough,” and “Feel Like Making Love,” will perform on Thurs., July 2.

The 28th annual Ribfest, a popular sizzling summer fest destination, draws many visitors with its family activities, award-winning rib vendors from across the country and crowd-pleasing musical entertainment.

Rodgers, a Grammy-nominated solo artist, is a musical innovator who has successfully reinvented himself over the course of a five-decade career. As a powerhouse vocalist, hit songwriter and peerless showman, this multifaceted rocker sold over 90 million records and helped redefine rock’ n’ roll music in the process. His musical partnerships have included recording or performing with Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Brian May, David Gilmour and Buddy Guy among others.

His latest work is a passion project that explores the formative, life-altering songs of his youth. Cut in Memphis, “The Royal Sessions” is described as an old school, analogue, live on the floor recording that finds the singer/songwriter digging into a set of deep Southern soul and R&B tunes from the 1960s and 1970s.
