Easter Egg Stuffing_0170
Naperville Jaycees soon will volunteer to stuff eggs for their annual Easter Egg Hunt in Frontier Park at 9AM April 4 while they plan Lobster Days in May at Centennial Park.

Hop to it! The Naperville Park District will offer outdoor spaces for three unique egg hunts next week for Naperville area families to enjoy: Flashlight Egg Hunt for kids ages 9-13, Spring Egg-stravaganza for preschoolers, and the long-running Jaycees’ Egg Hunt for kids ages 1-8.

Flashlight Egg Hunt / April 2

First up, the Flashlight Egg Hunt, held at 7:15PM on Thurs., April 2 at Knoch Knolls Park, will challenge kids to find prize-filled eggs in the dark, with the aid of a flashlight, of course.  The fee is $10 per child for residents and $14 per child for nonresidents. Knoch Knolls Park is located at 336 Knoch Knolls Road in Naperville.

Spring Egg-stravaganza / April 4

The Spring Egg-stravaganza will follow on Sat., April 4 at Seager Park Interpretive Center, located at 1163 Plank Road.

Two identical sessions will be offered at 10AM and 12 noon. The event includes games, stories, crafts and snacks in addition to the egg hunt. The fee is $11 per child for residents and $17 for nonresidents.

To register for the Spring Egg-stravaganza or the Flashlight Egg Hunt visit www.napervilleparks.org.

Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt / April 4

webabunnyDSC_1596The event with a tradition that dates way back to hard-boiled colored eggs before the era of stuffed plastic eggs is the Naperville Jaycees’ Egg Hunt at Frontier Sports Complex, located behind Neuqua Valley High School at 3380 Cedar Glade Drive.

The race for the eggs begins promptly at 9AM sharp on Sat., April 4, at the Frontier Park baseball fieds. The attractive event is free with no registration required.

The eggs disappear quickly, so parents are encouraged to arrive eggs-tra, eggs-tra early, way in advance of 8:55AM so the youngsters can be at their marks to go by 9AM. Nary a colored egg will remain on the baseball fields by 9:05AM.

Be sure to bring your own Easter basket!

After the hunt, the Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet everyone and to pose for photos. The Jaycees will be accepting donations of nonperishable food items at the event. No glass containers, please.

Parking will be at a premium at this popular event.  Again! Parents are advised to arrive early so their egg-collection kids will not be disappointed.

Spring for other Jaycees events, too!

While you’re at the Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt, you’ll likely be reminded about annual Distinguished Service Awards presentation on Thurs., April 16, at Meson Sabika and their Lobster Day on May 9 at Centennial Beach.
