Naperville Police investigate serious accident at 75th Street and Modaff Road

Serious accident reported at 4:45PM Mon., March 16

Naperville PoliceThe Naperville Police Department responded to the intersection of 75th St. and Modaff Rd. for the report of vehicle striking a bicyclist.

Responding units observed a white 2009 Chevrolet Express Van and a bicyclist in the intersection.

The Naperville Fire Department responded to the scene and provided emergency medical attention to the bicyclist who was seriously injured and transported to Edward Hospital. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Chevrolet van was westbound on 75th St. and the bicyclist was northbound crossing 75th St. at Modaff when the collision occurred.

Due to the nature of the crash, members of the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit trained in crash reconstruction responded to the scene to investigate the crash which remains under investigation at this time.

During the course of the initial investigation segments of 75th St. and Modaff Rd. were closed and rerouted until approximately 8:30PM.
