Journey with Autism – The world we can change

-

JoeyI don’t know how the world is going to learn to see what is not only possible, but life requirements for our planet to survive. It would not be our choice to follow YouTube pictures of deaths caused by the lowest of humankind. Perhaps you and I could make a vow this season of personal reflections to make sure that we change history by focusing on our own heart.

The other people in the world seen in the most famous videos are frequently observed in acts of such horror and shocking cruelty, we are often found longing to make sure that they are punished. It would seem fair to make their lives like that on their hate-filled filmed crimes. We cloud our minds with the most common human response: revenge.

The movie Selma showed Martin Luther King Jr.’s struggle to teach people to lose their taste for provoking more hate by responding. It is almost impossible to imagine the world that he was longing for. That world begins each time we don’t give hate our own.

It is truly possible for you and me to make the world more loving by responding to the images we see in the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr., with dreams of peace and resolving to give no matter how hard, only more love.
