Camps begin in early June and many run through July and early August. There are four convenient ways to register: online (using with our new, easy-to-use Regics system), in person, by phone or mail. “Our goal is to provide quality recreational and educational opportunities in a safe and fun environment,” says Natalie Vivacqua, program director of camps. “We’re committed to a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio and provide certified athletic trainers to all athletic programs.” All staff members undergo special training and background checks to ensure a safe and productive environment.
Fees vary depending on the length and type of camp or workshop. Some camps last several days and include meals and overnight accommodations, while some workshops may last a few hours. This year, there will be a more user-friendly online registration system.

Four new camps

Four new camps for youth are part of this summer’s lineup: E^2 (Expository Engagement) High School Math Camp, Baseball Advanced Skills Catching Camp, Boy’s High Performance Volleyball Camp and Wrestling Camp. They complement the popular athletic, academic, creative arts and special interest camps.
For athletes, North Central College offers summer camps in baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, pole vault, cross country, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. Some camps focus on developing advanced skills. For example, the baseball camps for high school students concentrate on catching mechanics and stances, receiving, blocking, approaching bunts, throwing and more. There also are camps for cheer, dance and swimming. Campers will learn from quality instructors and head coaches from the North Central community.
Other popular camps include radio workshop for high school students, musical theatre for both junior and high schoolers, and classes in creative writing, game programing, video production, flash animation, and Japanese language and culture.
Summer workshops for adults feature photography basics, beginner and intermediate tennis, English as a second language, ceramics, mindfulness meditation and stress management.
