The Y – Getting to the heart of healthy living home

-

YMCANow that we’re into the second month of 2015, I am confident that many of us are still working toward achieving our New Year’s resolutions—at least I hope that is the case. One of the top 10 resolutions every year is to get healthy.

February is National Heart Month, which serves as another reason to stay motivated and continue working toward your fitness goals.

As you know, the heart is one of the most vital organs in the human body, and keeping it healthy and strong is important. It’s no secret that regular exercise and eating healthy are keys to a healthy heart.

At the YMCA, we help individual’s every day achieve their goals for fitness and healthy living. Whether you are new to exercising, want to get started again, or a regular exerciser, we are here to help you.

The Y is also so much more than a place to exercise. We are a gathering place for the community, where people come together to engage socially, learn new skills, volunteer and make new friends.

Your YMCA also helps individuals and families undergoing financial difficulties stay healthy inside and out; last year, we offered $400,000 in financial assistance, which enabled many people participate in Y programs and services that they otherwise could not afford. This program is made possible in part through the generous contributions of people in the community like you—thank you.

Keeping your heart healthy is good for the body and for the soul. Come see what is happening at your local YMCA today.
