Naperville Moms Network is honored to pick CJ Lydon as our volunteer of the month.
A resident of Naperville since 1990 and Farmer’s Insurance agent that gives 10 percent of her profits to the charity of your choice, CJ has always found a way to give back to things about which she’s passionate. CJ’s top priority has been, and will always be, her three children—and now three grandchildren. The love and pride she feels for them is palpable as she speaks about them.
CJ has always been one our first members to step up in our organization. She has hosted some of our events at her house, participated in NMN fundraisers, welcomes other moms to be included in our group and always offers to help out in any way she can!
The other two organizations that she lends most of her time to are Operation Support Our Troops America, or OSOTA, and KidsMatter. She found OSOTA when her son started in the Air Force.
“When you become a Military mom, you reach out,” she says.
This year, CJ was asked to join the Board of Directors for KidsMatter and she has been actively involved in the Naperville Marathon since its inception.
When asked what she loves most about Naperville, CJ adds, “The people in Naperville take pride in the community. They do business with other Naperville businesses and they always look forward and don’t stay in the past. If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward.”
She continues to encourage others to volunteer as well.
“Everyone has a gift and can do something. All you need to do is show up and say yes!” she believes.
