The Naperville Education Foundation (NEF) will host its annual fundraiser, Yuks for Youth, from 7-10PM Sat., Feb. 28.
This year the stage will be set for iO Theater’s performance of “The Improvised Musical” at Wentz Concert Hall in the North Central College Fine Art Center, located at 171 E. Chicago Ave. One of iO Theater’s premiere ensembles, the Deltones, will perform a completely improvised musical. The cast will take an audience suggestion for a theme and then spin it into a brilliant Broadway-style musical with a fully improvised plot, music and lyrics.
The performance will include a select group of District 203 high school students who will be chosen to take part in a private workshop with the iO Theater cast on the afternoon of the performance and will participate in the actual show.
The fun starts at 7PM with light hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and raffle, followed by the performance at 8 PM. Tickets may be purchased online at www.nef203.org. Tickets are $55 a person through Feb. 15. Tickets will increase to $65 after Feb. 15.
All proceeds underwrite NEF programs benefiting District 203 students: Breakfast Program, Kid Booster Anonymous Fund, Math Camp, Study Skills Academy and Annual Grant Awards. For more information call (630) 420-3086.
