Exchange Happenings – A New Year

-

Emy TrotzStarting off the New Year, the Naperville Exchange Club will distribute $520,000 to Naperville area nonprofits for their community projects to eliminate child abuse and domestic violence. After reviewing more than 56 projects, the Allocations Committee identified 53 groups to be included in this year’s allocation generated from the proceeds of Ribfest. The Exchange Club, through success of Ribfest, will have donated more than $14.5 million to local agencies primarily to fight child abuse and domestic violence.

Ribfest is run by 140-plus members of the Exchange Club in cooperation with its partners including the City of Naperville and the Naperville Park District. More than 4,000 volunteers and hundreds of sponsors support the event run over the 4th of July weekend.

If you were thinking about joining a volunteer organization, now is the time to join the Exchange Club of Naperville. The National Exchange Club is once again offering a free 90-day membership trial called Stand Up America. Anyone who joins the Exchange Club of Naperville between the dates of January 1 – March 31, 2014, will not have to pay National or Club dues for 90 days. This will give the prospective member an opportunity to meet the members and learn what Exchange is all about. There are a variety of exciting committees to join and become involved in the community. Anyone interested in this trial membership, may contact the Exchange Club at (630) 779-2702 or visit www.ExchangeClub.org.
