In between Quiz Nights at Quigley’s Irish Pub on the first Tuesday of the month, the West Suburban Irish again have set plans in motion for the 2015 St. Patrick’s Day season, with many events planned from the end of February through March 17.
Before festivities begin, the group that celebrates Irish heritage will select its St. Patrick Day Queen and her court. Applications for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Queen for 2015 now are being accepted until the end of January 2015, available online at www.wsirish.org.
The West Suburban Irish Parade Queen is chosen based on her Irish ancestry as well as her high school and community involvement.
The 2015 Emerald Dinner will be held on February 28 at the White Eagle Golf Club. The annual fundraiser features Irish dancing, silent auctions, dinner, live music and dancing and the introduction of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Queen and her Court. All proceeds from this dinner/dance will go to support the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The public is invited to the ticketed ($65 per person) event. Tables of ten are available.
Another event, free of charge, hosted by the West Suburban Irish will be an Irish Mass on March 12, with a Soda Bread Reception to follow. The Irish Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Naperville.
