TO PN: Thank you for including the picture of Genavive (undercover) and me in the parade spread for this month’s issue of PN! Now all of the Bernickys have made it into the paper! 🙂  I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and will have a very Happy New Year! —Jodi Bernicky

Genavive Bernicky, in the arms of her mother, Jodi, participated with the Naperville Jaycees in the Little Friends Parade of Lights, a wonderful way to welcome the holiday season in downtown Naperville.

Editor’s Note: “Undercover” has been the Bernicky style more than once.  Just ask Jodi, now the mother of two, about the Jaycees Last Fling mascot, full size and miniature!

TO PN:  Check out this article (“Possibly the Best Explanation of Santa Claus We’ve Seen”) http://www.pyz.am/life/possibly-best-parental-explanation-santa-claus-weve-seen. This fits in nicely with Positively Naperville.  —Pat Benton

Note the adorable reindeer vests on these 7-month old twins during their first visit with Santa at Quigley’s Irish Pub in downtown Naperville.

To PN: Yesterday I was at the DMV on behalf of 360 Youth Services. After I told the woman behind the desk the name of my organization, she said, “Oh, I know you; I’ve been reading about you.” When I inquired where, she said, “The little Naperville paper, Positively Naperville.” She even recanted the story of Jennifer that she had read! She said they often have it at the DMV or she reads it at FedEx. She said the stories really inspire her. Thank you so much for helping us celebrate the young people we serve. We truly appreciate it. —Nancy Wiersum, Development Director, 360 Youth Services / PN Contributing Columnist

TO PN: I absolutely love the December issue (featuring Dick Locher on the cover). Seeing a number of the Dick’s cartoons in one edition was a true treat. It was a great idea and I am so glad he was willing and able to share in this manner.  Thank you for all you do in capturing great moments of our town’s happenings.  —Peggy Frank

TO PN Columnist Ed Channell: Ed – your commitment to family – whether far away or close at home – and to your community is inspiring. Your informative, humorous, entertaining column has been a highlight of PN for years! You will be missed. You truly are a Naperville Treasure. —Idalynn Wenhold

TO PN: We have been going to Nora’s Cafe a few times a week since they opened!!! The food is WONDERFUL and the place has been remodeled beautifully! The staff is friendly an the atmosphere is like having a meal with friends or family!
Spread the word, give Nora’s a try! —Madeline Highland

TO PN:  Thanks, Stephanie, for giving me the ten years of freedom of being me in print.  I enjoyed it a lot, but thought I should get out while I still have a little memory left.  I know I will miss it and the feedback I  received over the years.  Maybe I’ll submit a guest column occasionally for your approval.

Merry Christmas to all of you and all my PN friends.  Miss you all a lot. —Ed Channell

‘Tis the season to remember that Bill Anderson, Ed Channell and Joe Modaff were the emcees of the first Friends of Little Friends Hometown Holidays Parade in 2013 hosted by Russell Martin Carpets. The Sunday afternoon event led the way for the Little Friends Parade of Lights to become an annual tradition where Naperville loves a parade!

gingerbread BELIEVE houseTO PN: Thank you for the nice article featuring our home last year!   We had no idea.  Thank you for the lovely compliment!  We added something very “Naperville-Centric” to our holiday lights display this year at 630 Vicksburg Court.   Here is a little preview for you.  Enjoy! —Deb Nilles & Kevin Knoth

TO PN:  Can you please send us a few copies of the October issue to us?  The plow is featured on the front page and several people have asked us if we had extra copies. —Marge Meisinger

Editor’s Note: Earl Meisinger and his family donated the plow that sits at the Farmer’s Plaza along the Riverwalk, a tribute to all the farming families that have made so many contributions to Naperville.
