Naperville North HS is proud to bring Sleeping Beauty to the North Performing Arts Center. The Children’s Play Sleeping Beauty tells the delightful tale of old Nanny who wants to save Princess Beauty from marrying the wrong prince. Nanny lets Princess Beauty prick her finger and the humorous spell begins. The hubbub of wedding preparations stops as, one by one, servants and courtiers begin to slow down, nod and fall asleep. This process is reversed just as humorously as the hundred years having passed the true prince awakens Princess Beauty with a kiss.

Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Merry Tuba Christmas at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 in front of US Bank, 136 S. Washington St., Naperville. The group also will perform at 12:45PM at the Westfield Fox Valley shopping center in Aurora in the food court. Now in its 13th year, Santa House is a favorite tradition in downtown Naperville, where the pavilion at the corner of Jackson Ave. and Webster Street is magically transformed into Santa’s Naperville headquarters, hosting visiting hours with Santa for children and families. Admission to Santa House is free, with the option of purchasing photos with Santa for $8 each. Santa House is made possible by community volunteers and sponsors, including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Naperville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Whole Foods Naperville, Rocket Ice, Living Well Dental Group and Happy Family Organic Superfoods. The Park District will host special evenings at Santa House by reservation only, including: Special Needs Nights on Dec. 2-4, Military and First Responders Night on Dec. 10, presented by Pope Family Dental, and Pet Night on Dec. 11 , presented by Two Bostons. The holiday season comes alive with The Naperville Men’s Glee Club at their Christmas Presence holiday concerts. The first concert, ‘Candlelight Advent’, features thoughtful music about the anticipation and joy of Christmas sung by the Glee Club and guest soprano Mary Elliott. BrightSide Theatre presents “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” – 8PM | $18-$25

BrightSide Theatre, Naperville’s only professional theatre performing in the heart of the downtown historic district, presents the holiday classic ‘It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play’. Celebrate this holiday season by gathering your friends and family of all ages and step back in time to Christmas Eve in 1946 at the WBST Radio Studio and be a part of the live audience broadcast of It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. Watch five actors and a live Foley sound effects artist bring this beloved American holiday classic to captivating life as they play fifty different characters in this inventive retelling of the timeless story. With the perfect blend of Christmas cheer and theatrical magic, audiences will fall in love all over again with George Bailey and the angel named Clarence who saved his life on Christmas Eve. The Elmhurst Damenchor will sing at church services in the German language at St. John United Church of Christ in Naperville at 11:30AM on Sunday, December 7. Pastor Dr. Egon Gerdes will lead the service, and a reception with coffee and cake will follow the service. St. John UCC is located at 1190 Olesen Drive in Naperville.
