Naperville offers recycling options for used holiday lights

-

Above / Recycle used holiday lights and extension cords at 180 Fort Hill Dr. or deposit in the big box in the City Hall lunchroom.

If your Christmas tree is set for the holiday season, but some of the strings of lights are out after a year of sitting in storage, recycling is available and recommended.

Residents now can drop off their used holiday lights at the Department of Public Works or the Naperville Municipal Center for recycling.

Residents may discard lights that no longer work between 7AM  and 3PM weekdays at the Recycling Drop-Off Center located at 180 Fort Hill Drive.

Lights will also be accepted in a drop-off box located in the lunchroom of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St, during normal business hours from 8AM to 5PM.

Accepted lights include mini-lights (Italian lights), C7, C9, rope and LED as well as extension cords. All colors and lengths will be accepted.

Garland, live greens, wreaths or other non-recyclables are not accepted in this program.
