Through Dec. 7, Art exhibit: NCC showcases an art exhibit titled “Dual Duel” by Kate Pszotka. Featuring ceramic-based, mixed media sculpture, the free exhibit runs through Dec. 7 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

Through Dec. 11, Art exhibit: NCC presents an art exhibit titled “Another Light” by Darlene Poloniak and Jan Wessels. Using infrared light to portray the power and richness of the inner life, the free exhibit runs through Dec. 11 in the College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St.

Nov. 4, Author talk: Anderson’s Bookshops and NCC copresent Jim Peterik in an author talk and book signing at 7PM Tues., Nov. 4, in North Central’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. Peterik’s new book, a memoir titled “Through the Eye of the Tiger,” gives the inside story of the songwriter, rock star. Nov. 5, Author talk: NCC welcomes coauthors Dr. Thomas McFaul, professor of religion and ethics emeritus at North Central, and physicist Dr. Al Brunsting to discuss their new book “God Is Here To Stay: Science, Evolution, and Belief in God,” at 7:30PM Wed., Nov. 5, in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Nov. 5, Music: NCC presents its annual Honors Choral Invitational concert at 7:30PM Wed., Nov. 5, in Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The College’s Cardinal Chorus, Chamber Singers, Women’s Chorale and Concert Choir will perform with guest ensembles Downers Grove South High School Treble Choir, Lockport Township High School mixed ensemble, West Aurora High School Lyric Chorus and Plainfield South High School Concert Choir. Tickets are $5/adults and $3/students and seniors.

Nov. 8, Cardinal football: The NCC Cardinals will play their final football game of the regular season vs. Augustana College at 1PM Sat., Nov. 8, at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, 455 S. Nov. 9, Music: the Naperville Municipal Band presents its Fall Concert at 3PM Sun., Nov. 9, in NCC’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. For more info, about the free concert call (630) 778-9994 or visit napervilleband.org.

Nov. 10, Visit Day: High school students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend NCC’s Visit Day on Mon., Nov. 10. Registration begins at 9:30AM in the Wentz Concert Hall lobby, 171 E. Chicago Ave., and concludes with lunch at 12:30PM. High-achieving students are invited to an optional session at 9AM. Visitors can take a walking tour and attend informative sessions on financial aid, academic highlights and student life. Nov. 11, Lederman Scholars open house: NCC welcomes academically gifted high school students and their parents to attend a Lederman Scholars open house Tues., Nov. 11, and learn about taking college courses while still in high school. Nov. 13-16, Musical theatre: NCC presents “Parade,” the Broadway musical based on the true story of the 1913 trial of the century in which a Brooklyn-born Jewish man living in Atlanta was falsely accused of killing a young girl. Directed by Matt Boresi, the musical takes place at 8PM Nov. 13, at 7:30PM Nov. 14-15 and at 2PM Nov. 16 in the College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Tickets are $15/adults and $10/students and seniors.

Nov. 14, Music: NCC presents “An Evening with Jazz Pianist Chris White” with supporting North Central jazz faculty artists at 8PM Fri., Nov. 14, in the College’s Madden Theatre, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $20/adults and $15/students and seniors.

Nov. 15, Transfer visit program: NCC will host a visit program for transfer students Sat., Nov. 15. Visitors can learn about academic choices, transfer admission process, scholarships and financial aid. Registration begins at 9AM in the Wentz Concert Hall lobby, 171 E. Chicago Ave., with opportunities to meet faculty and learn about student life. The program begins at 10AM and concludes with lunch at 12:15PM. Nov. 15, Music: Chicago Sinfonietta presents “Día de los Muertos” at 8PM Sat., Nov. 15. The duality of grief and joy of the Day of the Dead celebration with music of Mexico’s two greatest living composers is captured in this concert in NCC’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $58 and $46/adults and $10/children and students.

Nov. 18, Music: NCC presents its annual Instrumental Invitational Concert at 7PM Tues., Nov. 18, in Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. North Central’s Concert Winds and guest Yorkville High School Concert Band will perform. Tickets are $5/adults and $3/students and seniors.

Nov. 19, Music: The talents of students in NCC’s jazz studies program are showcased in “The Fall Great Evening of Jazz” at 7:30PM Wed., Nov. 19, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $5/adults, $3/students and seniors.

Nov. 22, Music: NCC presents iconic rock star Rick Springfield in an intimate solo show titled “Stripped Down” at 8PM Sat., Nov. 22, in the College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Tickets are $50, $40 and $35.

Nov. 22-23, Music: The DuPage Symphony Orchestra presents “From Tsarist Times” with world-renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine performing Glazunov’s “Concerto for Violin in A minor.” Two performances are offered at 8PM Sat., Nov. 22, and at 3PM Sun., Nov. 23, in NCC’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $35 and $30/adults, $31 and $26/seniors and $17 and $12/students.

Nov. 27-28, College closed: North Central College will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 27-28.

Nov. 28-30, Theatre: Naperville’s BrightSide Theatre presents “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” at 8PM Nov. 28-29 and at 3PM Nov. 30 in NCC’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. Tickets are $25/adults and $22/students and seniors.
