Winter Season Begins Nov. 1

Naper Settlement’s Winter Season begins Nov. 1. Hours are 10AM to 4PM Tuesday through Friday. Admission is $5.25 for adults, $4.75 for seniors 62+ and $4 for youth 4-12. Naperville residents are free. The Visitor Center exhibits and exteriors of the buildings are available for touring. The audio tour is included.

Eleanor Roosevelt – “First Lady of the World”

Jessica Michna as Eleanor Roosevelt shares with the audience the First Lady’s tragedies and triumphs as part of the History Speaks Lecture Series from 4 to 5PM Sun., Nov. 9 at Naper Settlement’s Century Memorial Chapel.Born into the opulent wealth of America’s “Golden Age,” Eleanor would grow from a shy, homely orphan into a confident, driven woman. Despite her personal tragedy, she would emerge as a champion of civil rights, author and stateswoman. She is best summed up by President Harry S. Truman, who called her “The First Lady of the World.” Tickets at the door are $7 adults and seniors; $6 youth 4-12 and students. Save $1 on advance tickets.

Weed Ladies Winter Floral Sale

The Weed Ladies winter sale features holiday-themed floral arrangements and accessories and will be held from 10AM to 4PM Thur., Nov. 13 to Sat., Nov. 15 and from 1 to 4PM Sun., Nov. 16 in the historic Daniels House.. Admission is free to the sale. Custom arrangements are also available by calling (630) 305-5289.

Tea & Trivia: Gone with the Wind

Celebrate the 75th anniversary of this classic movie, Gone with the Wind, from 2 to 3:30PM Sat., Nov. 15 as The Tea Ladies guide you through little-known facts about the book, movie and author, and will test your memory with trivia games. Enjoy tea and treats in the Pre-Emption House Tavern. Tickets are $23 per person. Reservations are required; call (630) 420-6010.

Naper Lights

Stroll Naper Settlement’s grounds at 523 S. Webster St. in Naperville, and experience a magical holiday lights celebration from 5 to 9PM Thursdays through Sundays beginning on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27 through New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. Naper Lights is presented by The Sunrise Rotary Club of Naperville. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
