Students in North Central College’s Digital Media Club will host a group art exhibit, titled “The Movement Exhibition,” Oct. 2-Nov. 2.
The free exhibit will showcase a variety of media, including digital illustrations, animations, paintings, drawings, photography and more. Open to the public, the exhibit will be on display Oct. 2 through Nov. 2 in the College’s Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. Ellsworth St.
Meet the artists during a reception from 6 to 8PM Sunday, Oct. 5, in the gallery; light refreshments will be served.
The Digital Media Club is a new student-run organization, created to help develop professional skills and increase opportunities and collaboration among its members. “We wanted to give more types of artists the chance to showcase their work,” says junior Annie Dipert, an executive board member of the club.
“We thought the theme of our exhibition-movement-was relevant to the time of year, with school starting, things changing and everyone transitioning into a new school year. The artwork featured in the exhibition will reflect this change,” Dipert says.

Art students at North Central College learn traditional and contemporary media; engage in analytical, critical and abstract thinking; and learn to communicate ideas visually. Students attend gallery and museum openings and exhibits in Naperville and Chicago, meet visiting artists, enter juried exhibitions and gain an academic foundation for graduate study in studio art, art education, art history, art therapy, arts administration, art criticism and visual communications.
