Gary Olson started coming to DuPage Symphony Orchestra (DSO) concerts in 1998. His passion for the DSO grew to include six years on the board of directors, ultimately serving as President.
“Gary is a tireless volunteer,” says Jennifer Fair Margraf, Executive Director. “He is always there when we need him. Gary volunteers at most of our concerts and many of our educational programs, like Chamber Music at the 95th Street Library and Brownies with Barbara.”
“I love the DSO. It’s a great organization. I think it is one of the best community orchestra’s in the nation,” says Olson. “And my lovely wife plays in it!”
In addition to volunteering for the DSO, Gary is a member of the Rotary Club of Naperville / South.
“Making our community a great place to live is important to me,” says Olson. “Volunteering for great organizations like the DSO helps strengthen our community.”
Proudly named the 2013 Orchestra of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, the DSO looks forward to “Surrounding Our Community With Music” as members prepare for its 61st season. Music, The Global Language, will be an impressive five-concert subscription season with featured artists such as world-renowned violinist, Rachel Barton Pine, and virtuoso guitarist, Denis Azabagic, exceptional chamber music concerts, educational and outreach programs, and much more.
You can discover this remarkable community treasure with performances in the acoustically vibrant Wentz Concert Hall.
