After a year of careful planning, recruiting, coordinating and executing, the Naperville Art League is ready to present the 2014 Riverwalk Fine Art Fair. Now in its 29th year, this highly anticipated event featuring all original artwork will take place on Main Street and Jackson and along Naperville’s Riverwalk. Noted as one of the top ranking shows in the country, this fair will attract an estimated 70,000 people to the festival site. Some will browse, some will make purchases, and all will enjoy.
In this era of bulk furniture outlets and online auction sites, it is refreshing to see such a large turn-out for one-of-a-kind artwork. So, what is the appeal? Let’s go to the experts and see what they say: Artist Roy Adzak stated that “Good art is not what it looks like, but what it does to us.”

An original work of art can captivate us, transport us, and inspire fresh perspectives. Art encourages people to fantasize, imagine and explore new possibilities. It also advances our thoughts of who we are and where we have been while reminding us of our own humanity.
Oscar Wilde noted that “Art is the most intense mode of Individualism that the world has known.”
Picture this: you move into a new house, it is painted white and the walls are bare. What is the fastest way to humanize your space and make it home? By displaying original art! These works reveal your personality, convictions and philosophies and create a uniquely personal environment that nourishes and comforts you on a daily basis.
Original art is an investment.
Artistic director Phyllis Novak was quoted as saying, “We must not sell short the value of the arts to reach into the heart and soul of any who experience the struggles of life.”
Art not only touches us emotionally, but financially as well since it can appreciate in time. When you buy art, you are investing in the future of the artist by supporting him and encouraging him to continue with his craft so that others can share in the experience.
