The Long Road to World Peace: Thoughts from one man with autism

-

JoeyInspired by the events unfolding in the world, CNN’s incredible series “The 60’s” and recently seeing a Crosby Stills and Nash Concert, Joey has put his heart and mind into this column.

Long ago we came together, lifting our voices singing songs, filling the streets, even losing our lives.

Wearing flowers stepping out in defiance, giving out “good for people” posters. Hair wasn’t long for looks, it ordered the powerful men to prepare for change. Pro war old ways must stop.

Hear us and listen in your old men’s suits. It’s time we stop killings and learn to understand each other. Where are the hippies protesting young people dying in the fights God would condemn?

For roaring anger to die, old representation of a wall of bodies holding hands in chain of human spirit should fill the news. We are bold minds without one cause. We said voices should dominate, singing in harmony. Yet, gone are our young people doing what supplied history with images of love as the answer.

Maybe we eliminated lines drawn on roads stopping war of equal rights. Our world must once again palpably experience its old school joining of youth approaching the complexities of the long road to world peace with the battle cry “love not war.”
