Naperville Gardener – New members welcome!

-

Krueger_webThe Naperville Garden Club welcomes new members at any time throughout the year.

If this fall finds you looking for something new and worthwhile to do, come see us. Our membership chairpersons, Judy (630-800-2412) and Gale (630-898-9560) will be holding a new member coff ee at 1PM on Mon., Sept. 29 at the Naperville Bank and Trust on Aurora Avenue at Fort Hill. Call Judy to RSVP.

Our meetings are usually held the fourth Wednesday of the month. Our September 24 meeting will be held at the White Eagle Golf Club. A continental breakfast begins at 8:45AM. The business meeting follows at 9:15 and then Mary Stewart Pyziak, horticulturist and garden designer, will present a program titled, “What’s Tough, What’s Hot and What’s Not.” Paid reservations are due Thurs., Sept. 17. The cost is $14 for guests. Contact Deb at (630) 717-9616 to get your reservation in on time.

We work hard to make our major fundraiser, the Cup of Cheer House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea, a great way to start the holiday season and a financial success. Proceeds are used to fund the club’s activities and projects in the Naperville area and to fund college scholarships. This year’s event will be held December 4 and 5. Working on this event is a wonderful opportunity to learn about new trends in decorating and design while making new friends, too!

We also have fun throughout the year. In October, we are going to a cooking school that features recipes using produce from the garden on site. Previous activities have included a topiary workshop, classes in fl oral design, plant exchanges and other field trips.

We welcome you to join us as we learn more about gardening, horticulture, nature and conservation. Join us as we enhance the Naperville area in our projects at Burlington Square Park, the Nichols Library and schools around town.

The Naperville Garden Club looks forward to meeting you!
