niff-2014A Celebration of Art & Independent Films

Beginning Sept. 13 and running through Sept. 20, the 7th Annual Naperville Independent Film Festival (NIFF) is set to return for its annual exhibit of professional films produced outside of the major film studio industry.

For 2014, NIFF will present its film festival at the AMC Showplace Naperville 16 Theater, located at 2815 Showplace Drive (near 95th at Route 59) and at Smith Hall, located in Old Main on the North Central College Campus, 30 No. Brainard St. near downtown Naperville.

NIFF was founded to celebrate independent film – long, short, fiction and documentary. The festival is committed to exhibiting films that express fresh voices and differing global perspectives, with the hope that these programs will enlighten audiences, provide invaluable exposure for filmmakers and present inspired entertainment for all.

Over the past seven years NIFF has screened more 1,000 entries.  This year with roughly 125 films submitted, only 43 will make the big screen. Each night shows will be featured at 7PM and a 9PM. During every showing NIFF will present at least one, and usually a few, short films followed by a feature length film.

Tickets!

Tickets can be purchased at the door and on AMC’s online ticketing website. Tickets will admit one viewer, to one of either the 7PM or 9PM showing.

Also passes and packages allow filmgoers the best access to films, panels, parties and more. Browse through our show times and selections for the 2014 Naperville Independent Film Festival at www.naperfilmfest.org/Showtimes”.

Along with the AMC Showplace, NIFF will be showing films at Smith Hall on the North Central College Campus, a collaborator and friend of the Festival since its start in 2007.

North Central College will host the winners of the ECU, the European Film Festival. Tickets are $5 per show and will be available for purchase, with cash, at the door.

Opening Night & Closing Night Awards

The NIFF Opening Night Extravaganza, including food and drink, will begin at 9PM Sat., Sept. 13, at the Ashbury Clubhouse at 3403 Lawrence Drive.

Tickets for the Opening Night are $25 and can be purchased online or at the door.
