The Naperville Police Department is proud to announce that the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Committee awarded the department 1st Place in the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge, held on August 20,
2014, in Tinley Park.
The Traffic Safety Challenge recognizes the top traffic safety programs in Illinois. The challenge targets three major traffic safety priorities: occupant protection, speeding, and impaired driving. Agencies are evaluated in a variety of areas including educational programs, communication strategies, departmental policies promoting safety, and enforcement efforts. The Naperville Police Department utilizes a combination of these strategies to promote traffic safety with a priority of saving lives and reducing traffic crash injuries.
The Traffic Safety Challenge program is a friendly year-long competition among local, county, and state law enforcement agencies. Applications are grouped into categories based on agency type and number of police officers. Entries are judged by a team of nationally recognized traffic safety experts and law enforcement professionals.
