Naperville road closures, parking, shuttle service and accessibility plans for Last Fling

The City of Naperville reminds residents of the upcoming street closures, parking restrictions, shuttle locations and accessibility plans that will be in effect throughout Last Fling, taking place Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1, 2014.

Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the Last Fling includes a carnival, pre-parade run, food vendors, business expo and more. There will be several road closures and no parking zones in effect for the duration of the event, as well as additional closures and restrictions on Monday, September 1 to accommodate the Labor Day Parade and the Fling Mile. The details regarding dates, times and locations of these closures and parking restrictions can be found on color-coded maps located on the City’s website at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

Remote Parking and Shuttle Locations

Free public shuttles serving Last Fling will run to and from three remote parking locations near the downtown Naperville area, located at:

  • Burlington commuter parking lot, southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street
  • North Central College, corner of Brainard Street and Highland Avenue
  • All Saints Catholic Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave.

Shuttles will run approximately every 30 minutes. Shuttle service dates and times vary by location. Visit www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx or www.lastfling.org for service availability.

Shuttles will drop off and pick up Last Fling attendees at the corner of Eagle Street and Aurora Avenue.

Parking is also available in parking lots and decks throughout downtown Naperville. For more information on parking in downtown Naperville, visit www.naperville.il.us/downtownparking.aspx. 

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking for the event on-site will be available at Naper Settlement, the Rotary Hill parking lot located on Aurora Avenue and in the lower level of the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle St. Please note that for the duration of the event, the entrance to the Municipal Center parking lot will be off of Webster Street.

Off-site accessible parking is also available at All Saints Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave. Accessible shuttle bus service is available at this location approximately every 30 minutes. There is one accessible spot for wheelchairs per bus.

Accessible parking is available in all of the parking lots and parking decks located throughout downtown Naperville as well as on some of the streets. A color-coded downtown Naperville accessible parking map is available to view on the City’s website atwww.naperville.il.us/lastfling.aspx.

Fling Mile and Labor Day Parade

The 2014 Labor Day Parade will take place at 10AM on Monday, September 1, in downtown Naperville.
