DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) invites business and community leaders to join innovation expert and consultant Tom Kuczmarski, as well as a panel of experts and entrepreneurs, for a lively discussion on how innovation is driven by a values-based culture. The event, Place Value in Values: Creating a High-Performance Values-Based Culture, takes place Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 5:30 – 8:30PM. at Northern Illinois University’s Naperville campus (1120 E. Diehl Road, Naperville, IL.). Seating is limited and pre-registration is required.

“Quality learning experiences for young children have a direct impact on the level of success they will experience later on in life, so it is a natural extension for DuPage Children’s Museum to present this discussion,” said Sarah Orleans, President & CEO, DuPage Children’s Museum. “Our previous business-focused events have been hugely successful so we’re excited to join the business community for another thought-provoking discussion.”

 Brief Overview

Tom Kuczmarski, a nationally recognized expert in the innovation of new products and services and co-founder of the Chicago Innovation Awards, will discuss how leadership and values are no longer buzz words in today’s workplace. More and more, the workplace culture is becoming the most talked about setting where performance-driven success is leveraged by values-based management styles. Following his presentation, Kuczmarski will moderate a panel of innovators and an audience question-and-answer session to further explore the topic.

“I applaud DuPage Children’s Museum’s mission – to stimulate the young mind through self-directed, open-ended play,” said Kuczmarski. “The Chicago region has become a global center for innovation and leaders today drive innovation through a values-based culture. I’m looking forward to facilitating a dialogue with business and community leaders in DuPage County and beyond.”

Innovators participating in the panel discussion on September 17 include Pete Kadens, Co-founder & President, SoCore Energy; Sandee Kastrul, Co-founder & President, i.c. stars; Sarah Orleans, President & CEO, DuPage Children’s Museum; Sharon Schneider, Co-founder & CEO, Moxie Jean; and Kate Schubert, Regional Sales Manager, Disney Institute at The Walt Disney Company.

“Famous Dave’s and the communities we serve benefit when we invest in innovation, and we believe businesses need to be relevant in all the communities they serve. Education of our children, their health, well-being, and discovering and enjoying the arts are relevant community outreach goals of Famous Dave’s BBQ,” said Ed Rensi, CEO of Famous Dave’s, the presenting sponsor of this year’s Innovation Event. “We fully support DuPage Children’s Museum’s mission to stimulate creativity, thinking, and problem-solving skills in young children and are happy to provide the resources they need to increase access to their innovative programs for children and their families.”

Place Value in Values is hosted by DuPage Children’s Museum and is sponsored by Presenting Sponsor Famous Dave’s and Bronze Sponsors Chicago Innovation Awards, Magnetrol, Molex, and PNC Bank.

The cost to attend this event is $25. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. To learn more and to register, visit https://dupagechildrens.org/innovation-2014/
