The City of Naperville and the Naperville-Lisle Townships Triad is pleased to present the “Healthy, Wealthy & Wise” conference for area senior citizens from 9AM to noon on Friday, September 12, at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St.

This informative, engaging conference is a free opportunity for independent living seniors to learn more about services available to them from experts in various fields. Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will present the conference’s keynote address at 9:15 a.m. in Council Chambers, followed by Attorney Linda Strohschein presenting information on estate planning and powers of attorney at 10:15AM. Loretto Cowhig from the Northeastern Illinois Agency on Aging will conclude the day with a presentation about Medicare at 11:30AM.

“As Naperville’s senior population continues to grow and the ‘Baby Boomer’ generation ages, the City wants to connect seniors with resources in the area of health, law and independent living,” Crime Prevention Specialist Julie Smith said. “This is an excellent opportunity for our seniors to hear directly from experts on matters that impact their lives and explore resources that can help them lead active, healthy, safe and independent lives.”

In addition to the three speakers, more than 35 area organizations representing healthcare, safety and legal services will showcase their products and offerings to attendees in the Lower Level Meeting Rooms of the Municipal Center. Prizes will be raffled.

Walk-in registration begins at 7:30AM  on the day of the conference. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early; tickets to the speakers will be given out until capacity in the Council Chambers is reached.

“Part of the mission of Triad is to promote crime prevention for seniors in addition to encouraging involvement in community programs and educational seminars,” Naperville-Lisle Triad chair Brian Foster said. “This conference will empower our seniors in the areas of health, the law and safety so that they can enhance their quality of life to the maximum extent possible.”
