Another favorite summertime place to sit outside and enjoy downtown Naperville is Potters Place Mexican Kitchen & Cantina, located at 29 W. Jefferson.
We enjoy sitting out on their large back patio. In the evenings from Wednesday through Sunday during the summer, they have live entertainment. They have an extensive list of talented artists that you can enjoy!
Now on to the food. For the appetizer we choose the Nachos Supreme which was tortilla chips topped with black beans, Chihuahua cheese pico de gallo, extra guacamole and sour cream. This appetizer came out and it looked like it was about to tip off the plate. It was so large! Great for a group to share.
For my main entree, I had the Chicken Fajitas, with grilled onions and green peppers. The seasoning was perfect and the vegetables were cooked to perfection.
My mom had the Potters Place signature dish, the Christmas Tree Burrito, which was flour tortilla stuffed with your choice of meat, my mom choose chicken, piled high with guacamole, sour cream, extra cheese and tomatoes… This is a meal fit for a king— or a queen in my mom’s case. She said it was very flavorful and amazing. It was again too big for her to finish, so I would recommend this be a sharer plate.
For dessert I had the Fried Ice Cream—vanilla ice cream covered in cinnamon and sugar and frosted flakes. Yes, you read that right: frosted flakes. Then it’s topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce and a cherry.
“Delicious!” is how I would describe this dessert.
