As the summer months have rolled by, we now find ourselves in the wonderful month of August. There is still time to enjoy the rest of summer and all that comes with warm weather. We have excellent resources and opportunities to enjoy our wonderful community, swimming outside, walks around the Riverwalk, and spending time with friends and neighbors.
This wonderful month also brings about a busy time for children to prepare for their return to school and prepare for all the fall activities. Keeping children engaged in recreational and educational activities after school and during out of school time is so important for their social and emotional development. Your local Naperville YMCAs love the opportunity to work with children of all ages supporting them during these out of school times.
Good things happen when children unplug and play. This fall there is a wide variety of opportunities for children – preschool through teen to engage in at the YMCA.
For our youngest community members we offer Educational Preschool beginning at age 2 years, along with swimming lessons, and beginning sports enrichment. Every child 3 years and older enrolled in YMCA Educational Preschool programs receives a swimming lesson as part of the curriculum.
School-age children not only have an opportunity to participate in the Safe ‘n Sound Program right at their school for Before and After School Age Care, but the YMCA offers a wide variety of Swimming Lessons, Swim Team, Youth Basketball, Dance, Art and so much more.
Looking for a great family program? The YMCA offers an excellent parent child program – Y-Guides. This program is rich in history and tradition and provides a father and child a wonderful opportunity to strengthen their relationship by participating in campouts, parades, and special trips and so much more together.
