Naperville’s newest artisan market, Standard Market, is now open for business at 1508 Aurora Ave. The 40,000 square foot facility offers fresh and prepared foods as well as Standard Market Grill, a casual restaurant featuring fresh ingredients from the Market.
The chef driven market features several stations and food shops throughout the market including a coffee and tea shop, cheese cave, bakery and gelato bar – most of which is produced daily on site by a brigade of chefs. Specialty foodstuffs and hard-to-find ingredients – such as exotic tropical fruits, ramps, guinea fowl and squab – will delight local gourmets.
Several hundred selections of artisan wine and craft beer can also be enjoyed on-site and paired with cheese in the wine, beer and cheese bar. Staff will open just about any bottle for customers to sample. Alcoholic beverages can also be purchased from the retail setting and then consumed in the Grill as well on the patio.
“At Standard Market, customers can walk in and find expertly butchered meat, hand filleted fish, fresh produce, prepared meals, and an impressive selection of wine, beer, cheese, pantry and dairy items, many that are local to the Midwest,” said Brian Wright, Executive Chef of Standard Market. “With expanded indoor and patio seating, Standard Market Grill will become a Naperville hot-spot featuring quality dishes in a sophisticated yet casual environment.”
Visitors can expect to find many locally produced foodstuffs and beverages, including olive oil and vinegar from downtown Naperville’s Twisted Olive and beer from Two Brother’s and Solemn Oath.
In 2011, Standard Market opened their first market in Westmont. Two years later, a standalone Standard Market Grill opened in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, offering customers a gourmet restaurant experience in a casual environment.
Standard Market’s new Naperville location will be open daily from 8AM to 9PM. The Grill is open daily from 11AM to 9PM, with special weekend breakfast hours from 8 to 11AM. The Coffee Shop opens at 7AM.
