Tipsters from NVHS head to Ribfest stage on July 5

Tipsters win first place in 2014 Battle of the Bands, followed by Dead Yet Alive and Where It Starts in second and third place

Eight high school student rock bands representing all five Naperville High Schools competed in the Naperville Park District Youth Ambassadors’ eleventh annual Battle of the Bands contest on May 9 in Central Park.

The Tipsters from Neuqua Valley High School won the contest and will perform at the Exchange Club Ribfest on Sat., July 5. They also will represent the Naperville Park District in the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association’s statewide Battle of the Bands.

Second place winner, Dead Yet Alive, from Naperville North High School, will play at the Park District’s Rollin’ on the River Series at the Riverwalk on Fri., June 20 and at Naper Nights on July 26 at Naper Settlement.

Third place winner, Where It Starts, from Neuqua Valley High School, also will play at Rollin’ on the River on June 20.
