Naperville Ale Fest returns July 19

-

The Naperville Ale Fest’s summer edition returns to the popular west suburban community on Saturday, July 19 showcasing over 200 unique beers from craft breweries from around the country.  The fest, to be held on the grounds of Naper Settlement from 1-5PM, will feature live music and a variety of food from some of Naperville’s favorite restaurants.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement.

Naperville Ale Fest 2013“This is the perfect opportunity for craft beer aficionados and those new to craft beer to discover a new favorite,” said organizer Josh Seago of Lou Dog Events. “Last year we witnessed first-hand just how popular craft beer is here in Naperville.  But whether you’ve been enjoying craft beers for years or are brand new, you won’t be disappointed. The fest is one of the largest beer festivals in Illinois, so there really is something for everyone.”

Seago plans an expanded the beer selection with over 100 different brewers and an expanded Rare & Hard To Find Beer selection.  $45 tickets include 15 sample tickets, commemorative tasting glass and program guide. Additional sample tickets may be purchased at 50 cents each. Designated drivers will be admitted for $15 and will receive a commemorative tasting glass as well as complimentary soda and water.  No one under 21 will be admitted.

“This is the perfect excuse to hire a sitter and spend a relaxing afternoon with family and friends,” Seago said. “The unique park-like setting and proximity to all the amenities of Downtown Naperville make this an ideal location to experience craft beer.  We’re proud to show off a gem in the community.  Bring a lawn chair or enjoy a picnic table on the grounds of Naper Settlement.”

“We see the Settlement as a gathering place for Naperville,” said Kevin Burns, Vice President of Development and Marketing for Naper Settlement. “Hosting the Naperville Ale Fest underscores our history of hospitality and our continuing effort to remain a focal point of the community. The proceeds will help advance our mission of preserving the stories that made Naperville, and the stories being written today.”

Over 4,000 people attended the inaugural Naperville Ale Fest, from throughout the Chicagoland area and from as far away as California, Colorado and New York.  A free shuttle will run from the downtown Naperville train station to the fest throughout the afternoon. Parking is available at the Municipal Center and Downtown Parking Facilities.
