A Sunday afternoon burger always hits the spot.
This one Sunday my mom, Brad and I went to Jackson Ave. Pub, located at 7 W. Jackson Ave. in downtown Naperville.
Jackson Ave. Pub opened its doors on June 29, 2012. They created a menu that has numerous inventive selections–all the food is prepared from scratch and made to order.
For starters we enjoyed the pot stickers–which are dumplings filled with pork and served with a sweet chili soy sauce and nicely presented with green onions. The pork is tender and the bottom of the pot stickers was crispy, sauce is sweet; yet, ends with a kick. Green onions are a good add to the flavor.
For my main course, I had the Smokey Burger—pepper jack cheese, tomato, arugula, chipotle aioli. The burger was big with juicy taste the chipotle. The pepper jack cheese gave the burger a kick. The bun was oven baked to perfection!
For my side, I choose the truffle parmesan fries. Big portions, perfect amount of Parmesan and truffle, over crispy hand cut fries.
Brad choose the Spice Burger—sliced jalapeno, pepper jack cheese with a habanero cheese spread.
“Red hot taste!” came out of this burger, Brad said, saying he would definitely order it again!
My mom had the special burger which was a patty melt. That’s a burger served on rye bread with grilled onions and Swiss cheese. My mom likes her bread toasted and this was not–but she said it had good flavor.
If you’re strolling downtown Naperville on a gorgeous spring day, stop into the Jackson Ave. Pub and tell them “Jack the Foodie sent ya!”
