On Thursday, April 10, Metea Valley High School will host its third annual student assembly regarding the devastating consequences of drinking, texting and becoming distracted while driving. Timed in conjunction with the beginning of prom season, the assembly will present a two-minute-and-40-second video to the student body.
In addition, Leslie Huerta who was paralyzed in a DUI car accident while she was a senior in high school will share her story accompanied by her fiancé, Jonathan Santos.
“Although this entirely is a school-funded presentation, we would like to extend the opportunity for all interested parties to support this effort,” wrote Assistant Principal Joy Ross. “I believe you will truly understand why after you watch the Metea Valley-produced VIMEO video.
The mock DUI gives the senior class at Metea Valley something to think about before Prom and graduation, with all the celebrations to come, added Ross.
