The Y – Exercise your potential

-

January starts the beginning of a new year and is named after the god Janus. Janus is the Latin word for door. Janus has two faces, one to look backward into the past year, and forward into the New Year. He was the “spirit of the opening.”

Erika WoodAs we move into 2014, it is the opening to what can be, and the power to move forward that sits with each of us.

For many of us, we seek to be healthier by exercising and eating healthy.

We often view getting started and remaining committed to exercising and eating right very challenging. It has been proven that those who have realistic goals and engage with others when they begin their new routines are far more successful than those who set out on this journey alone. Gaining the support of others not only is helpful to achieve better results, but the energy that comes from exercising with others is truly beneficial.

The staff of the Naperville YMCA believes the transformation to a fitter, happier you is priceless. At the Y we focus on helping you to get fit inside and out, through a variety of program options for youth, adults and families. You can participate in personal training, group exercise classes, swimming lessons, youth sports, dance, preschool classes and so much more.

At the heart of the Naperville YMCA lies the power to transform – both yourself and the world around you. Your YMCA is deeply rooted in the community. We are committed to strengthening bodies, minds and communities. The YMCA is a place where families can come and be healthier together.

Belonging to your YMCA has many benefits such as many free fitness classes, free fitness consultations (to ensure you get the support you need to get started), personal training discounts, family events and activities, a wide variety of youth programming, and no contracts.

The YMCA is proud to offer the Naperville community four YMCA location/program centers: Kroehler YMCA, Fry YMCA, YMCA Sports Complex and YMCA Safe ‘n Sound located in most Naperville Schools.
