On a recent Thursday, an engaging gentleman answered many questions as he was paying for his spa visit, rejuvenated and cajoling with the staff about the personalized treatment he’d just received and appreciated.
All smiles and relaxed, Sonny Persona (not his real name) is a salesman who has lived in Naperville for 22 years. Though eager to provide an overview of his “extraordinary experiences” at Arista, he asked to remain anonymous. He didn’t want anyone to know his secret to success. Since he spends a major portion of every week behind the wheel in his car, often faced with traffic congestion, regular massage therapy long has been a necessity to keep him relaxed and freely moving, he said.
“My experiences here at Arista have been the highest level available,” he said, noting he began scheduling treatments several weeks apart shortly after the new spa had opened last summer. “I’ve been to some of the finest spas in the country—Four Seasons in St. Louis and the 5-star Broadmoor in Colorado Springs—and Arista offers services that are right up there with the best—and even better than many.”
The gentleman went on to say he typically allows three to four hours for his spa day. That Thursday he had clocked three and a half hours that included the sauna, steam bath and a cold shower and deep tissue massage to loosen up his muscles, especially in his legs.
“It’s also a treat to have SugarToad and CityGate Grille, and Riva before them, right here in CityGate Centre. Quite honestly, I banked on their fine reputations when I decided to try Arista Spa. And now I tell all my friends.”

According the Laura Lambert, director of spa services, reservations for priority appointments are recommended at least two weeks in advance.
Lambert, a licensed massage therapist, also noted the spa and salon provides a lovely setting for brides and their parties to be beautifully photographed while staying at the Hotel Arista for weddings.
Group events also can be arranged for a relaxing and luxurious spa day.

For starters, a 30-minute Express Massage, a back, neck and shoulder massage, that focuses on stress spots to relieve overall tension, is listed at $75. Frequent spa guests say a 15-20 percent tip is appropriate for the massage therapist.
